Christian Mothers at Deliverance Church, Makerere have held special prayers for a better Uganda. Lillian Musoke, leader of the Christian Mothers’ ministry at this church led the prayers in interceding for a new and revived nation.

A heavy rain disrupted activities on the first day of the cultural gala, held at University Hall.

Performances were stopped due to the heavy rain that poured in the middle of activities. Participants and spectators were seen running in search for shelter, which was not provided by the organizers.

After a break of two weeks, the National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) has since resumed registration for students and staff in halls of residences and colleges.

NIRA, a body that is responsible for registering people in Uganda, had halted the exercise two weeks ago  in consultation with Makerere University authorities.

Uganda has on Monday, and for the very first time, started vaccination against the deadly Ebola haemorrhagic fever (EHF) as a preventive measure against the disease that has ravaged neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

A according to Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the Health minister, a total of 3000 Ugandans are to benefit from the from the vaccination process.

The construction of Terrewode Women's Community Hospital (TWCH) in Soroti district has started, after it was launched by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga early this year.

Terrewode is The Association for Rehabilitation and Reorientation of Women for Development, which is behind the construction of the hospital. The first phase of the hospital is meant to put in place facilities to treat fistula in women.
