Barclays Bank has launched a new campaign called dubbed ‘Ebitala bintadde’ to introduce their new access plus account. The bank says the new account is meant to increase financial inclusion for Ugandans.

According to head of customer network at Barclays Bank, Gunilla Ouko, the bank is in the business of offering their customers the best financial support. This new account comes with an extra offer of a daily 30,000 UGX for any of their hospitalized customers, and some money given to them after they spend three days in hospital.

On the third day, the bank starts giving them some money to help with refreshments and other needs for their loyal customers. This fee goes up to 900,000 shillings as replacement cover up annually.

Francis Xavier Nsereko the Business Customer Adviser, Wandegeya branch says this account has been created to do away with the belief that banking is only for the rich.

"Monthly fees is as low as 4,500 UGX and no minimum balance is required. 24/7 instant deposits at the bank's intelligent ATMs, sending money to any one from a Barclay's ATM or from the comfort of their phones doesn’t need data to be done," explained Nsereko.

Kiziito Ali, a client of Barclay's bank says this plan is very helpful to him as a customer and he realises he won't spend as much as he would in a hospital because of the provision given by the bank.

"This account comes with an active visa debit card without any account opening fees required," adds Ouko.
