Efforts to resolve conflict at Makerere University Institute of Social Research (MISR) hit a snag on Friday after the embattled Dr Stella Nyanzi failed to turn up for negotiations.

According to Bruce Kabaasa, Dr Nyanzi was supposed to face the Makerere University appointments board yesterday July 29 to discuss a way forward about her stay and terms of her employment at MISR, but she did not surface.

Information typed on a wireless keyboard can easily be intercepted or snooped on, a cybersecurity research firm has warned.

San Francisco-based Bastille said these keyboards transmit what is being typed without any encryption, making the "text very clear" and possible for hackers to access from a distance of up to 76m (250ft) away.

The police will soon spray demonstrators with a new type of tear gas that has an odour like that of human faeces, a top officer has revealed.

While being hosted on Bilal FM on July 24, police spokesperson Fred Enanga said the intention of using the stinking spray is to make the victims get shunned by public as the smell will linger on  them for more than 30 minutes.

Makerere University literature professor, Abbas Kiyimba needs more than Shs 100m for further
treatment in South Africa where he has been hospitalized for the last three months.

Prof Kiyimba, also the deputy principal in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, was referred abroad by doctors at Mulago hospital after they failed to cure his condition medically,
known as gastro varices.

The ministry of Health has said that Karamoja currently has the highest cases of Hepatitis B infections in the world something that has forced its workers to intervene and find a lasting solution to the epidermic in the region.

Hepatitis B is an infectious viral disease that attacks and dysfunctions the liver. Uganda has 10 per cent prevalence and that is about 3.5 million people, and can cause death if untreated.
