A section of Makerere University students have expressed dissatisfaction with the embattled seven-member committee established to resolve the tuition increment contraversy.

In a debate organized on Friday by Makerere University Debate Union in the university Main Hall, students accused the committee of having misrepresented their electorate.

Only 60 students turned out for a recent blood donation exercise at Makerere University's Freedom Square. This out of a student population estimated to be over 40,000.

Dr Monica Naluswa from the Uganda Red Cross Society and also working under Nakasero Blood Bank says this is the lowest number they have recorded in all their camnpaigns in Makerere University.

The Makerere University main gate will remain open, despite works ongoing to finish its construction. The University's Public Relations Officer, Ritah Namisango says the partial opening was in response to requests from the students and employees of the university.

A 19-year-old student at Makerere University says his view of Islam has changed after he spent Eid day early this week with a Muslim family.

Jet Steven Mulindwa, a second year student of Bachelor of Social Sciences had always had a negative view of Muslims, thanks to their categorization as murderers by sections of global media.

Shiloh City Church in Mukono has marked eight years of existence, through a celebration conference dubbed THE WORDFEST.

The conference that started on 27th August will take place for a full week. According to the senior pastor of the church, Pastor Godfrey Joshua Kuteesa, the renovation and expansion of the church has been a big step in ministry and thus the need for thanksgiving.
