The Netball She-Cranes have started training at the hockey ground, Lugogo ahead of the Vitality International Netball Series in the UK. The tournament pits Uganda against England in a three-match series from 27th November to 2nd December, 2018.

All the 18 players summoned turned up for the training.

Born hearing on 4th October 1981 in Ngora district to Mr. Opit Gabriel and Mrs. Akiteng Kevin, Okwadi Michael lost his hearing sense at the age of eight through unclear circumstances.

 

“It was in the evening around 5pm when I suddenly felt so cold and decided to go and sleep. On waking up the following morning, my sense of hearing was gone,” Okwadi recalls.

Just days after a virtual news anchor started reading news in China, some Ugandan journalists say the development signals tough times ahead.

China state news agency, Xinhua, unveiled its artificial  intelligence news on Wednesday 7th November  at an internet conference in the Eastern Chinese city of Wuzhen.

"Hello, you are watching English News program, I am AI News anchor in Beijing,” said the AI anchor named Qiu Hao.

Residents of Bwaise-Bokasa zone in Nabweru, a Kampala suburb are still counting losses following heavy rains on Tuesday morning.

Barely a month since the rainy season started, some communities in flood prone areas in Bokasa along the northern bypass have started experiencing the impact of floods. The heavy downpour that lasted several hours left the area flooded, roads cut off and drainage systems blocked. As a result, work was nearly paralysed.

Thousands of Bobi Wine’s fans and opposition supporters attended the Kyarenga Concert at One Love Beach, Busabala over the weekend.

As early as 2pm, people were already at the venue of the concert eagerly waiting for performers and by 6pm, the beach was filled to capacity. A big percentage of the population was donned in red clothes and ribbons tied on their heads.

Makerere University will demolish the long closed wooden structure between Senate building and CIT LAB 2 that sheltered what was Makerere University Bookshop to create space for the proposed multi-billion Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre.
