The Bible Society of Uganda (BSU) this week celebrated 50 years of existence with a ceremony at which a 27-billion-shilling housing project was launched.

At the ceremony on Friday, November 23, BSU, which opened its offices in Uganda in 1968, speeches, performances and praises were on display. A modern housing facility to cost twenty seven billion shillings was launched.

It was a stampede at some supermarkets in Kampala on Friday as people struggled to enter shopping malls to take advantage of slashed prices of items.

Dubbed “Black Friday”, supermarkets such as Game had slashed prices of items by half and this was enough for shoppers to make dash for the malls.

Mixed reactions have greeted the shock resignation of Moses Basena from his role as Sports Club Villa head coach after only three months in charge.

Basena succeeded Wasswa Bbosa and agreed a three-year contract with the club, being appointed by the interim committee of William Nkemba.

However, early poor performances and relegation struggles saw the former UPDF tactician terminating the contract.
