THE ANNUAL MEDIA CONFERENCE IS ON THIS WEEK

All is set for this year’s Annual Media Convention (AMC) scheduled for Thursday 31st and Friday 1st November at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.
The two-day event will bring together journalists and media practitioners, public communication experts, policy makers and government officials, academicians, civil society and development partners, as well as Journalism and Communication students from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, Zambia and Germany.

BBC READY TO START THE LONG AWAITED EVENT

This was revealed during a brief meeting of the BBC team representatives and students from the department of Journalism and Communication who have offered to volunteer with the team throughout the event.

During the one-hour meeting in the common room at the Makerere university main building, the team representatives led by Ruth Milway revealed that the event will start on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 2:00pm in the freedom square. This will go on until Thursday March 28, 2013 when the event will officially come to an end.

BBC Team Meets Journalism Student Volunteers

The BBC World Service team has held a meeting with Journalism and Communication student voluteers in preparation for the first ever Science festival in Africa to be hosted by Makerere University at the Freedom square from Sunday 24th to Thursday 28th March 2013.
The team that comprised of Ruth Nilway, Dilsana Hussain, and Fiona Ambrose met with the student volunteers in the senior common room of the University’s main building today March 22, 2013, to discuss their roles and responsibilities in assisting the BBC production crew during the festival week.
