NAKIWOGO- Passengers using Nakiwogo, Entebbe route to Kalangala have expressed concerns also faulting Marine Vessel (MV) authorities for not issuing them with life jackets.

Travelers said that they feel unsafe using the vessel without jackets citing the recent incident in the neighboring Tanzania where over 70 people lost their lives in Lake Victoria.

Wakanda lifestyle will operate Wakanda branded shuttles that will move between two routes and will operate from 6:30am to 09:30pm on a daily basis targeting the general university students but especially the students.

Makerere University students have embarked on a campaign to boost domestic tourism by visiting the various tourist attractions in the country as a way of encouraging other Ugandans to follow suit.

Fourteen students mainly from the College of Business and Management Sciences (COBAMS) and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) started the campaign last weekend by camping on the beaches of Kalangala district on Lake Victoria.

A 38-year-old man with physical disabilities rides for seven kilometres to Soroti town daily to work as a bicycle mechanic.

 Julius Odongo has been riding a wheelchair to work for the past 10 years and it is partly from this job that he earns money to take care of his wife and six children.

"I have some work I do especially digging and bicycle repairing and I have now taken 10 years. It has so far helped me to sustain my life," says Odongo.

The College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS) emerged as winners in the Sister's Competition 2018 that was organised by Makerere Muslim community under their umbrella Makerere Muslim Students Association (MUMSA).

Muslim ladies from different colleges on Saturday gathered in the gardens of the Makerere Main Mosque to compete in different activities that included cookery, recitation of Quran, Quiz about Islamic affairs and public speaking.

Reverend Father Kizito Kirenga, the director of Radio Maria in Uganda, has called upon Catholics to remain focused during this period of the rosary and to stick to the values of love, peace, help and forgiveness.

Father Kirenga was on Sunday leading Mass at St Augustine Chapel, Makerere at the climax of a week of activities meant to promote Radio Maria.

"God gave us the ten commandments to guide our faith and action," he added.
