Next media services launches first ever audio visual Radio in Uganda

 

KAMPALA- Next media services group on Wednesday night launched the much anticipated ‘Next Big Thing;’ the Nxt radio station.

The group unveiled Nxt Radio 106.1 FM at Mestil Hostel, a new brand to already booming NBS Television, Sanyuka TV and Salaam Television.

The Nxt Radio, according to Next Media services will help the group to reach to the youth and other audiences especially during the morning and evening rush hours.

Water crisis hits Mary Stuart Hall, toilets left un-flushed

 

MAKERERE- Water crisis has hit Makerere University’s magnificent girls’ hall Mary Stuart, causing jamming sanitation also risking residents’ health situation.  

When Journalism@mak visited the hall on Friday, our reporter found a deteriorated health situation as toilets are left unflushed causing them to stink.  

These constructions are currently taking place between Lumumba and Mary Stuart halls.

Rampant usage of polythene bags at Mary Stuart as government fails to effect the ban

 

Although the National Environmental Management Authority(NEMA)  and Vivo Energy Uganda have launched a campaign aimed at sensitizing Ugandans about the dangers of using polythene bags dubbed,  “Tuve ku kaveera” (let’s stop using polythene bags), usage of polythene bags around Makerere University is still a rampant practice. This is clearly seen by many polythene bags used on a daily basis by a kiosk at Mary Stuart hall.
