Muganzi Awongererwa road gives Makerere Northern side, commonly known as Kikumi-Kikumi a new look.

Although the Muganzi-Awongererwa road is still under construction, Kikumi-Kikumi is no longer what it was, with  residents appreciating the work so far.

The road starts from Kubiri via Kikumi-Kikumi and connects to Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road. It is being constructed by 'Energo Projekt' contracted by Kampala Capital City Authority and funded by the Government of Uganda. It started in May 2018 towards the end of Academic Year 2017/2018.

According to the custodian of Kasamba Hostel, Alex Ssenkesi, by the time the construction ends the place will completely look different and they hope to attract many students back in the area.

"I am compelled to stay here due to the changing state of the road," says Asio Dinah, a student of Makerere University who stays in Kasamba Hostel. A businesswoman, Hope Ainembabazi also says she is happy because the dust that used to dirt her merchandise is reducing.
