Bebe Cool to Pay School Fees for 200 Children

Musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool has launched a charity drive to pay school fees for 200 children.
The Nsilikamu singer moved to the US two months ago shortly after being attacked on stage over open attack on rival musician, Robert Kyagulanyi, who is also Kyadondo East Member of Parliament. This year, Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine used his music to mobilise the youth to challenge government policies such as the introduction of taxes on mobile money and social media usage. Bebe Cool on the other hand held concerts openly attacking Bobi Wine and promoting government programmes. President Museveni was chief guest at one of Bebe Cool’s concerts at Kololo Grounds.
At another performance at Lugogo Cricket Oval on August 31, fans threw beer bottles at Bebe Cool forcing him off the stage of what was dubbed the Swangz All Star Concert.
Bebe was on the list of singers who entertained the audience as Swangz Avenue celebrated 10 years of dropping hits.
When he stepped onto the stage to perform his “Love You Everyday”, the crowd got rowdy, started booing him and throwing bottles. Police personnel had to step in to rescue him.
But the singer has announced that his next concert in Kiwatule is aimed at doing raising money for charity, this time paying school fees for children.
"You haters have fomented my fans and guess what, I know you all want to see if I have support in Uganda. Well, I will return to stage performances starting g this #Boxing-day-26th-December,
Entrance to the event is twenty thousand shillings.
Perhaps as a way to win back his fan base, Bebe Cool this week put up 1000 US Dollars for a lucky fan who will tell the singer’s music journey.
He uploaded two pictures of him an old one when he was still struggling and the current one. He asked fans to describe him in not more than 500 words and a fan with the best description will win 1000 Dollars on December 26.
"This is Bebe Cool then and now. They say pictures tell a lot and these two; one taken in 1994 and the other in 2018 have a lot to say about me," read the post
He added: "Describe my story life in a short comment (not more than 500 words) and you win one thousand dollars (3.7 UGShs) on Boxing Day…Your story should include what you think you may learn from the two pictures," he added.
Known for not shying away from controversy, Bebe Cool had a message for those he thinks plan to boycott his show. "This nonsense of boycotting things, please continue boycotting as long as you don't boycott food and clean water because we love you, we care about you and we don't want to lose you in this steadily progressing country,” he said.
In reply, a fan said: "I would rather support Bebe Cool who begs money from the government and uses it to help the poor than Bobie Wine who uses the poor to fight the government."
