The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC head coach Mike Hillary Mutebi has applauded the Ankole Lions’ manager, Mbabazi Livingstone for his tactics after both sides played a goalless stalemate at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo.
According to Mutebi, Mbabazi is one of those few coaches in the league who know how to frame the game. “Mbabazi is good; he is one the best coaches as per now who know how to play football,” Mutebi said. The Kampala giants’ tactician also claimed that Mbabazi came when he had prepared his side for the game.
KCCA started with five changes to the team that won Bright Stars including handing a debut to their newly promoted right back Jurua Hassan who replaced Philbert Obenchan in the starting eleven.
Mutebi also decided to start Poloto Julius who was recovering from injury to replace Muwada Mawejje. Others who were handed a starting position included Nicolas Kasozi, Jackson Nunda and Patrick Kaddu.
The Kasasiro Boys enjoyed the better chances in the first period with shots from Allan Okello and goal hunter Patrick Kaddu, although they failed to make that crucial breakthrough, while the visitors opted to hit their opponents through counter attacks until the close of the half.
In the second half, the KCCA FC technical bench vowed for early changes as Jackson Nunda who was very quiet for the whole of first half paved way for Allan Kyambadde and the hosts continued with the biggest possession of the game.
In the dying minutes, the hosts were left with one man down as their new right back Jurua Hassan was given matching orders for fouling Paul Mucureezi.
The Mbarara City assistant manager, Kasule Richard believed his side deserved a win, and thanked his boys for the game. “We deserved a win but one point also counts for us,” he said. He also credited his goal keeper for being alert for the whole of the game.
KCCA FC will visit Vipers SC on 3rd November at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende while Mbarara City will host SC Villa at Kavumba recreation grounds on the same date. The draw keeps KCCA FC in the second position on the league table.
