Three cleared for Makerere Vice Chancellor job

The Makerere University Vice Chancellor search committee has released the official shortlist with names of three candidates.
The shortlisted candidates include professors Barnabas Nawangwe, Edward Kasujja Kirumira and Venansius Baryamureeba.

The chairperson of the search committee, Irene Ovonji-Odida, announced the names in a press statement issued yesterday.

“I informed you that the search committee had received four applications for the post of vice-chancellor and that at an appropriate time you would be notified on who the applicants are...” Ovonji-Odida’s press release reads.

He added that the shortlisted candidates will sit interviews this week and then make public presentations in the university’s main hall next week.
The current Vice Chancellor, Prof John Ddumba Ssentamu will officially handover office on August 31, 2017.
