Ndejje University put up an impressive performance on Friday even though they lost their maiden Uganda Premier League match 0-1 away to defending champions Vipers FC at St Mary’s stadium Kitende.

Ndejje’s Aniwar Ntege and Isaac Muyanja displayed good performances that entertained the hundreds of fans that crowded the St Mary’s stadium for the game.

Coach Raymond Komakech’s side continued to put much resistance but failed to keep their nerves in the dying minutes of the match. Vipers’ new signing Davis Kasirye eventually scored the lone goal of the match.

Meanwhile different fans have reacted to the performance displayed by the former big league giants and have insisted that if it continues to play such, it will progress in the league.

Fahim Ssaka, a Vipers’ fan said although his side won, his heart went with the visitors. “Vipers won the match, but Ndejje University won my heart,” he said.

Kayonde Musa, a fan of Ndejje University says his team will compete for the title. “I am happy with our performance although we lost but I know  with time we shall compete for the title,” he said.

Ndejje University will play its second game on 3rd October against Mbarara City at the Arena of Visions, in Ndejje.
