Mike Mutyaba scored a brace (2 goals) in his great performance as KCCA FC thrashed Nyamityobora FC 6 -1 at the Startimes Stadium on Sunday.

Mutyaba who had taken long without playing football after being disturbed by a knee injury and at one point announced retirement scored two goals for the home side as they shoved off out of form Nyamityobora despite coming as a substitute for Allan Kyambadde in 53rd minute.

Mutyaba scored in the 62nd and 70th minutes and was excited about his performance on the day.

“I want to thank Allah for the two goals and performance both for me and my team,” Mutyaba said.

In another special way, Mutyaba praised and appreciated the efforts of his coaches and colleagues. “I appreciate the effort of my fellow players and coaches who have been helpful in my recovery process with encouragement here and there,” he added.

Besides the impressive performance from Mutyaba, Mutebi was also impressed by the excellent game for the entire team they had against Nyamityobora FC despite having most of their senior players just returning from national duty.

The Kasasiro Boys got their early goal through Patrick Henry Kaddu who had scored for Uganda Cranes against Cape Verde. They settled and dominated possession until Man of the Match and team Captain Timothy Awany scored the second after a foul on Allan Okello who, with Jackson Nunda both scored to make it 6 – 1. Dada Juma scored the visitors’ only consolation.

Both KCCA FC and Vipers SC are tied on 18 points in their 8 games but KCCA FC tops the table with a huge goal difference.

The league will resume on Friday 30th as BUL hosts Vipers SC, Nyamityobora vs Villa SC, Police FC vs  Mbarara City and KCCA FC’s next league match will be on 1st December away to Maroons in Luzira Prisons Stadium.
