Kampala -Thousands of customers turn up at Shoprite-Acacia mall, to grab the best deals of discounted products.

Many customers flocked the newest branch of shoprite at Acacia mall to enjoy the lowest prices on black Friday.

"This is the highest number of shoppers we have served since this branch was opened in April 26, 2018" says Mr. Ikasangat Charles one of the branch managers.

Charles confirmed that a number of customers were found waiting outside before the opening of the supermarket. They were practically busy the whole day since 8:00am. He attributes the large number of customers to the discounted price of up to 50% off.

Mrs. Sabakaki Christine, one of the customers expressed excitement about the promotion." I came with a friend to help him shop for his introduction so that we could buy cheaper items. And indeed all thanks to Shoprite that we attained what we had come for."

Black Friday is an imported culture from America. It is a day after the thanks giving Thursday where retailers after a slow sales autum offer deals to start the festive season.

While many customers queued for the available deals, others lamented on not only the congestion but also the narrow selection of the items discounted.

Mrs. Byakagaba Joy complained about the delays caused by the congestion caused by the supermarket. She also added that, “Am discontent with the narrow selection of the heavily discounted goods, the prices of electronics seem to have been maintained to our disadvantage as customers. "
