Dusan Vlahovic has re-written history in the Italian top-flight. More interestingly, is the fact  that the record puts the 21 year old Serbian player on the same pedestal with Cristiano Ronaldo.

During Fiorentina's entertaining two all draw with Sassuolo on Sunday, the hitman scored his 33^rd goal in 2021, equaling the goal tally achieved by Ronaldo during his time with Juventus in 2020. Vlahovic and Ronaldo are the only players to score more goals in a single calendar year in the Italian top-flight since 1960.

The Vlahovic has been in impressive form since the start of the last campaign. He netted 21 goals in 33 appearances, only 7 short of eventual golden boot winner, Ciro Immobile of Lazio.

Vlahovic's goals have not gone unnoticed. The ex-Partizan striker has been heavily linked to giant European clubs in the last two months. Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are leading the charge for his signature. However, Manchester City and Juventus are also keeping close tabs on the player.
