MPs blast security forces on heavy deployment, beating Bobi Wine supporter

Kampala- The oppositions Members of Parliament have Thursday castigated security chiefs on deploying heavily and beating civilians as they gathered to welcome People Power patron also Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

“Bobi Wine is a free Ugandan with his rights freedom to movement without street restriction. The actions will hunt Mr [Yowweri] Museveni,” said Muhammad Nsereko (Kampala Central) MP.

He added that President Museveni is wasting country’s resources to silence Ugandans and to cling on power.

Security agencies yesaterday deployed heavily in major parts of Entebbe as part of plans animed at thwarting Bobi Wine’s supporters from hold processions welcoming him at the airport

However, security minister, Gen. Elly Tumwine deafened the heavy deployment saying the State received credible intelligence that opposition  people has  planned to bun the city centre.

He said the heavy military deployment on Entebbe road and other parts of Kampala and Wakiso districts was a preventive measure against the anticipated chaos as MP Robert Kyagulanyi returned from the US.
