Wakiso Giants beat Busoga to move to the 7th position

Wakiso Giants are now in 7th position of the StarTimes Uganda premier league table after beating Busoga United 2-1 in a match played at at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso on Friday.

The visitors took the lead through a 25h minute strike by Otwo Abubakar but Vienne Sekajugo levelled the match in the added minutes of first half. In the 72th minute however, Karim Ndugwa's goal earned maximum points for the Purple Sharks. This is their 5th win of the season.

This has been Steven Bengo's first win with Wakiso Giants ever since he was appointed as the caretaker coach of the club to replace Kefa Kisala, who was sacked at the beginning of this week due to his poor start of the season. In his post-match comments, Bengo, a former Uganda Cranes International, said: "I’m pleased with this start though things didn't go as planned on Tuesday when we suffered a loss of 1-0 to Vipers. I’m looking forward to win more matches as long as players also play their role".

Vienne Sekajugo who snatched the MTN Fans player of the match thanked his teammates for the win. "My thanks and appreciation go to all the players even if the fans have appointed me as the man of the match."
Lubwama George, a staunch supporter of the Purple Sharks in an interview said, "I congratulate our coach Steven Bengo for the love and togetherness that he managed to instill in the players and fans that has been lacking. This is what made us secure three crucial points from Busoga United. He has managed to boost the morale of the players and we as fans have a lot of hope in him."

This has marked three consecutive losses for the side of Busoga side. They were unlucky that after leading the match, they lost the game to Wakiso Giants. Busoga are now in 6th position on the table topped by Vipers FC with 30points. Busoga United's next task is Maroons on the 12th of this month.
