The Uganda Cranes team entered their training camp at Star Times Stadium, Lugogo on Friday, ahead of the Lesotho game in the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.

The training has been conducted by locally based players of the Uganda Premier league and some of the U-17, U-20 and U-23 players. Sixteen players turned up for the first training session.

Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre together with his assistant Matia Lule monitored the training that was majorly based on shooting drills and stretching intended to meet fitness levels.

The French born tactician earlier summoned a 32-man squad that involved many shocks as he included many U-20 players. Young stars such as Allan Okello,  Mustafa Kizza and Julius Poloto made Desabre’s call-up while senior players including Kizito Luwagga were left out. Desabre explained his decision: “ We shall conduct several sessions with the local-based and the selected Junior players to enable them access their levels of fitness and attitude.”

The Uganda Cranes, who are currently Group L leaders, will take on Lesotho in AFCON qualifiers on 13th, October 2018 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
