Tycoon SK Mbuga To Give Shs 1m To Each Cranes Player

Shortly after Farouk Miya’s ending of a 39-year wait for Uganda to Africa Cup Of Nations (Afcon), city tycoon and socialite, Sulaiman Kabangala, aka SK Mbuga, has promised to reward each Cranes player with Shs 1m.

Flanked by his friends, Mbuga confirmed the pledge during an 18-minute live video he posted on his official facebook page.

“Confirmed 1m per player. Uganda Cranes oyee,” he said.

It remains to be seen when the tycoon will fulfil his promise.

Yesterday evening, the national team left millions of Ugandans filled with extreme happiness after beating Comoros national team, 1:0, thereby qualifying for Afcon finals to take place in Gabon next year.

WHAT UGANDAN CELEBRITIES SAID AFTER THE MATCH

With many anticipating that president Museveni would declare today a public holiday, which never turned out to be the case, the commander-in-chief of armed forces simply described his happiness in nine words.

“Congratulations Uganda Cranes! The country is
proud of you,” he posted on his Facebook page.

The minister of education and sports, who is also the First Lady, Ms Janet Kataaha Museveni, couldn’t hide the excitement, now that the victory come during her term of office.

“This win is an answer from God to a National prayer. Today along with hundreds of thousands of Ugandans, I watched you qualify for AFCON.This is after your hard work and dedication. I thank God for this victory and I salute the Uganda Cranes,” she said on Facebook.

Ms Kataaha was also the guest of hounour at the match.

Dr Stella Nyanzi, known for the nude protest she staged at Makerere University in April this year, was equally excited.

“Uganda Cranes na mutima! We have finally
qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations. Uganda oyeeeeeeee! Uganda oyeeeeeeee! Uganda oyeeeeeeee! Comoros ziiiiiiiiiiii,” the research fellow, currently in South Africa, said.
