Pope Francis Meets, Inspires And Excites Youth at Kololo

Pope Francis met with young people at Kololo in Kampala on Saturday afternoon where he asked them to always pray to God.

The pope was received amidst loud chants and screams from the youth. The youth could not hold tears and screams of joy such as “we love you, papa".

24 year old Nansumba, shared a testimony about how she lost her Parents to HIV/AIDS later gaining hope after her loss.

"John 10:10, God wants us to have life and have it abundantly" She quoted.

She encouraged the youth to go for blood check-up in order to know their HIV/AIDS status. She was later blessed by the Pope as she left the podium.

Thereafter was a speech from a young boy who witnessed the war in Nothern Uganda. Emmanuel shared his story of how he was kidnapped from Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Lacor however managed to escape after three months. He has earned a degree in Business Administration.

Pope Francis took on the podium to address the youth speaking in latin with an English translator. He asked the youth to transform negative experiences into positivity.

 "I asked myself something, a negative experience; does it have a purpose in life? Yes. Many of us here have had negative experiences, there's always a possibility of opening the door and rising to the future,

“Let us all try to imagine the sufferings of Emmanuel, when he knew that he’s friends were being tortured, he has courage. Jesus was insulted, rejected and murdered, and by the power of God the father, he was risen. He can do the same in us with every single thing we experience, because Jesus is Lord," the pontiff said.

The pontiff is currently in Central African Republic in conclusion of his African tour.
