Bundibugyo Electoral Commission Double Cabin Now Turned Into Taxi
Submitted by Christopher Tusiime on
Tax payers in Uganda may soon part with more hard earned coins to buy new Bundibugyo Electoral Commission vehicles after one of the double cabins reg. number UG 0792B was spotted collecting passengers along Bundibugyo-For Portal, thereby being used as public transport means.
The vehicle, which was being driven by a yet to be identified dark skinned man, was today seen stopping on several stages along the road, with its driver coming out to negotiate with passengers about the fares to Fort Portal.
On departing from Fort Portal, the vehicle left with three passengers and on reaching Rwengoma, the driver was seen stopping to add more two passengers tobmake a total of 5. From here, he headed back to Bundibugyo.
The authorities of Bundibugyo EC couldn't be reached for a comment as all our phone calls to their known phone numbers went unanswered. But according to a source that preferred to remain anonymous, drivers can not take these vehicles from parking without the knowledge of the registrar of high ranking officials in the district.
At first, this reporter thought that the driver was just helping Ugandans stuck along the road, until when he followed the car to Fort Portal where the passengers were seen paying to the driver.
