Wakiso Giants Snatch Stoppage Time Winner against Proline

Proline's dismal form continued on Sunday as Kefa Kisala’s men lost 2-1 to Wakiso Giants.
Vienne Ssekajugo netted twice, including a 90th minute penalty, to secure maximum points for Wakiso Giants and pile misery on Proline at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Ssekajugo's 7th minute goal placed the Purple Sharks into the lead but Bright Anukai's 39th minute strike leveled matters. Things changed in the 90th minute when the referee gave Wakiso Giants a clumsy penalty as Proline's captain Mustapha Mujuzi described it.
“The penalty was not genuine. It came out of the blue and we were all shocked but we had nothing to do.”
Wakiso captain Hassan Ssenyonjo, however, insisted that the referee made the right decision.
“The penalty was fair and we actually deserved it. Our togetherness as the players earned us crucial three points. Proline say the penalty was clumsy because it was against them. If it was against us they wouldn't have described it as clumsy,” Ssenyonjo explained.
Proline's supporters were also not contented with the penalty that led to their loss. Kabirigo Ismael, one of the supporters, said: “It was not a straight penalty and so unfair. The referee is even lucky that the game is more civil these days otherwise in the old days he would have gone with less teeth.”
Coach Kisala said he was pleased with his team’s performance despite the loss and advised the players not to lose confidence.
“We have nothing to do but rather to look for points and make sure that we don't go back to the big league. I therefore urge my players to continue with the struggle and not to lose confidence. Togetherness will also help us to remain in the league,” he said.
Proline remains at the bottom of the Star Times Uganda Premier League table without a point in its first five games. The team is suffering a six-point loss following refusal to honour the fixture against SC Villa that was slated to take place at Lugogo Stadium. This earned Proline a fine of five million shillings by the FUFA Competitors Disciplinary Panel (CDP).
