My income triples my former salary - Muyomba

WANDEGEYA: A Bachelor's degree graduate last year decided to do CHAPATTI making instead of pursuing with his profession.

Alex Muyomba, a graduate in Education says that he started making CHAPATTI last year after his graduation from Kyambogo University. He went for this business because after his graduation, a school used to pay him a salary of Shs 350,000 which was not enough to cater for all his needs. The salary only covered his transport bills, food and part of family expenditures.

But ever since he started his own business of selling chapattis, he has never looked back.

"I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelors degree in Education. I was employed at Blessed High School, Ssemuto but my salary could only help in transport and a little bit of family welfare. This prompted me to come up with an idea of chapatti business. At first, I got challenges from fellow graduates but I had to gain courage, and now they are just admiring my successful life," says Muyomba.

He says that he started with a capital of Shs 200,000 and now saves Shs 30,000 per day. He added has two workplaces thereby doubling the money he makes.

"I have managed to construct my house and some rentals. I have two kids and both are in school; my family lives a happy life because they lack nothing, " he adds.

Like any other business, Muyomba says that he has found challenges in his business but the main problem he has got is about workers. Some workers are not faithful so he finds himself present at work all the time.
