Lumbox Carnival Goes Well Despite Mishaps

This year’s Lumbox carnival at the Makerere main grounds went well as Lumumba and Mary Stuart solidarity registered yet another milestone.
The event started at 8:00pm as reggae music played while the famous MC Allan Dziz together with MC Bristol lit it lively with their voices.
The event powered by Capital FM and Senior Common Rooms of Lumumba and Mary Stuart (Box) was kicked off by Elders and the Cambodian army (Gongom Guard Brigade) introductions.
Roasted meat (nyamachoma), ice cream, lots of drinks, rolex to mention but a few were all available at the admirers’ expense.
As a norm, the function was graced with presence of great Lumbox alumni who influenced the way everything was handled.
As a result of their influence, it was an embarrassment that the Lumbox leaders who were at the fore front of the event were not recognized save for the Chairman, Mr. Njarira Kassim who immediately after introducing himself, called for the singing of the Lumumba and Box anthems neglecting his team.
This sparked off scuffle by some leaders who felt unhappy and shouted at the chairman. Hell broke loose when some of them were seen being thrown down from the stage and the ugly scene of the lights going off for a while.
The situation was however soon brought to order by police who were present at the venue.
The event later took its hype with the melodious voices and great performances from Bruno K, King Saha and finally Fille Mutoni before it ended at a few minutes past 1:00am.
“We are thankful to our Lumumba Chairperson, Chairlady box, the Lumbox SCR, the event organizers and our sponsors for the job well done. For those who were hurt, we are sorry and regret whatever went wrong,” said the Information Minister Lumumba hall, Agaba Victor.
