SHORT HAIR TRENDS AMONG GIRLS AT CAMPUS
Submitted by Anonymous on
Short hairstyles are having a major moment around Makerere University, with many girls seen reverting to it. From the lob to the bob, and the iconic pixie cut to fringes and bangs, there are so many short hair looks to choose from.
As students are known for jumping on trends, it is hard now on campus to move metres without noticing two three or probably five every in ten girls with short hairstyles. Hair trends are a matter of generations and hair is one of the things that every lady is so conscious about.
"Short hair is the trend and above all it makes me look young. I failed to get a hair style that suits me so I decided to cut my hair and keep it short,” Evelyn Namuyomba, a Second Year Bachelor of Journalism and Communication student said.
Namuyomba says she spends little money on maintaining her French hair-cut, adding that it takes her few minutes to trim compared to plaiting which not only takes a lot time but is also expensive.
However, Elizabeth Tusiime, anither student, says that she finds it hard to maintain the short. “It is expensive to maintain. I spend Shs 20,000 per week since I get my hair done weekly to look neat and smart,” she explains.
However, lovers of short hair styles explain that there are numerous ways to rock this hair style. “It can be tinted in whichever colour that matches with one’s complexion; colours can even be mixed up like maroon and black, or black and blond or just black,” a hair stylist explained.
She added that the height of the hair also varies and this has a lot to do with your boldness and courage.
