A team of seven students from the  department of Journalism and Communication have been sanctioned  as editors  for Journalism@mak, a student news website.

Journalism@mak is a platform for journalism and communication students to develop their writing and editing skills.

While sanctioning this team at Campus FM production lab - Makerere University, Mr. Fred Kakooza the Coordinator, Labs, equipment and websites has said the website will be reporting on breaking news stories in and around the university and will enable students meet their sources as well as acquire experience for future employment.

“I am happy that students have come up on a voluntary basis to steer up the work on their website. We hope that students are going to be able to manage and improve their editorial skills through continued engagements,” says Kakooza.

This  editorial team is in charge of the nine sections of the news site.  Godfrey Ssali who has been assigned the society section says he is thrilled about the new changes and working for the website. “I am very excited to be part of the team that is going to rejuvenate the journalism website. I have hope that we shall turn around news reporting at Makerere University.”
