The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Gen. Mugisha Muntu has dared Makerere University students to join politics so as to save Uganda.

Speaking at the ceremony to declare the party’s flag bearer in the March 19th guild elections, at Nkrumah Hall grounds yesterday, Mr. Muntu warned students against leaving politics, thinking that a savior will come to Uganda’s rescue.

“This country is short of leadership but when many of you (students) get out of the gates of Makerere, you go to the corporate world and ignore politics”, he said.

“Even if you have a degree, go and become an LCIII Chairperson as a sacrifice. That is when we shall change this country,” he added.

Mr. Muntu also laughed at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) MPs who endorsed president Museveni as their 2016 presidential candidate.

“How on earth can you have no one standing against you in 30 years?” he wondered.
Mr. Andrew Mujinya emerged the winner of the FDC ticket beating off competition from Lillian Aber, Marjorine Bole Naula, Chark Benson and EdgarTushabe.

Mujinya has since failed to secure a testimonial, throwing FDC into confusion.
