Makerere – Members of the Guild Council that made recommendations to the University Council to increase tuition fees all shunned a debate organized to discuss the matter. Only one member of the seven-people committee was present at the debate held at Main Hall.

The committee was constituted by the 84^th Giuld to find out if the University Council's decision to increase tuition was necessary.

It is now a month since the new system of paying tuition was introduced at Makerere University for the purpose of tracking students’ payments immediately they deposit money on the university account in the bank.
