Since the popular February 28th Kyankwazi caucus that endorsed president Museveni as NRM’s sole candidate in 2016 presidential elections, there has been an upsurge in number of youth led movements advocating for interests of different politicians.  In the Kyankwazi caucus, Northern Youth MP Evelyn Anite moved the sole candidature motion.

Makerere university students have demonstrated against increment of the graduation fee from Shs. 90,000 to Shs. 220,000.

At about 8am today, students had gathered at the university's freedom square, from their different halls of residence and lecture rooms.

The Makerere University Journalism and Communication department is set to meet Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) this month to decide on Campus FM’s fate.

The meeting due October 29th will be to negotiate amongst other issues offering a limited frequency to the radio station, following the transfer of 107.0MHz to Salt FM in Kampala.
