It was sorrow and tears as Journalism and Communication students of Makerere University bade farewell to their course mate Charity Komuhangi, who was a fourth year student.

Komuhangi was laid to rest on Friday at her ancestral home in Kitimba Village near Katobo Trading Center, Nyakagyeme Sub County, Rujumbura County in Rukungiri District, South Western Uganda. She was survived by her 2-year-old baby boy.

High court presided over by Justice Yasin Nyanzi has directed government to pay Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago Shs 75 million to compensate his malicious arrest by the police, about nine years ago.

Lukwago was, in 2007, arrested for 'disobeying' a police officer's instructions that stopped them from accessing the Constitutional Square to hold public rally. They were protesting activities of the notorious Kiboko squad which was thought to be a state Machinery

Police spent a fair portion of their time yesterday searching the home of Nakawa's Member of Parliament after arresting him on Wednesday.

Michael Andrew Kabaziguruka was arrested from Port Bell Luzira and was shortly after taken to the Special Investigations Directorate in Kireka where he is being detained and interrogated.

Makerere University Appointments committee has issued another suspension letter to a lecturer from the College of Business and Management Sciences (Cobams).

Brian Musaga, from the department of planning and applied statistics was at the end of this month allegedly caught red handed in a sexual act from his office with a third-year student (name withheld), from the same college. The student had gone to Musaga's office to inquire about how to handle her final project.

Drama ensued today morning after locals around Karuma along Kampala-Gulu highway opted to exchange blows over elephant's meat that they slaughtered after it caused an accident.

The accident took place at around 3am, where a bus reg number UAM 829C and belongs to KK travellers, knocked the elephant that was crossing the road, leaving 3 people dead on spot, including the driver, and several others injured. The bus was travelling from Arua to Kampala.

An 18-year-old boy who has been claiming to have connections with illuminati and also recruiting people to the cult via facebook has been arrested.

Moses Katende, a resident of Kijabijo in Gayaza was yesterday arrested by police  for allegedly impersonating Jeff Kiwanuka,  a music director with Goodlyfe crew on Facebook, and started persuading the users on the social site to join the cult that claims to gives quicker riches to people.
