Makerere University Seventh Day Adventists' Association (MUSDAA) members have embarked on cleaning streets in Makerere University.

 

The exercise that began on 19th October with the MUSDAA members cleaning the University by sweeping and collecting rubbish from the roads, digging and uprooting grass from the trenches with the rubbish taken by a truck in what is termed as communal work.

Makerere University students have shunned free male circumcision, a service being offered at the ongoing Health Week at the Freedom Square. Free circumcision was done by the Infectious Disease Institute in an enclosed tent using circumcision blades.

But male students journalism@mak talked to say they could not be circumcised because it is not private.

The Makerere rubbish pits have turned into a source of survival for two street children in Wandegeya. 14-year old Shakul Mukasa and a 10-year old only identified as Peter rely on the rubbish pits of Makerere to collect boxes and paper, which they sell to get the basics of life.
