UMTAC School of Journalism and Makerere Business Institute have won the recently concluded Inter-Institutional Media Challenge. UMTAC emerged winners as the best Luganda News Team with Francis Kitaka as the best Luganda News Anchor. MBI was awarded for being the best English News Team with Walter Mwesigye as the best English News Anchor. These best News Anchors were awarded with a great opportunity to work with NTV for a year.
University and Mary Stuart halls have emerged this year’s inter-hall swimming competition champions. University hall beat their closest contenders, Lumumba by 8 points while Mary Stuart hall beat off competition from Africa, their closest rival by 12 points while Complex hall trailed with 15 points.
The contest involved six halls for the males and the 3 females’ halls. However, Nsibirwa hall never sent any swimmer to the competition.

Robert Kitenda Gobbi and Fredrick Magonga Musisi won the awards for best public speakers 2013 The Art of Public Speaking course.
Kitenda scooped the grade category beating four contenders, to take home a trophy, while Magonga lifted the certificate crown beating 5 other contestants.
