A 25-year-old student of Makerere University says he’s watched helplessly as his dream of becoming a journalist evaporated.

Hershim Kaggwa, now pursuing a degree course in education, hasn’t given up as yet even after being frustrated and failing to get a job.

"I want to live a better life. I saw my dream die, I hated all media houses after being tossed up and down as I looked for a job,” Kaggwa says.

Police sacks varsity officers

Police in Kampala has sacked its security bosses at both the Makerere and Kyambogo University over alleged theft of funds.

The officers on the spot are ASP Moses Byaruhanga, the Chief security Officer at Makerere and ASP Amos Gumisiriza of Kyambogo University.

According to sources privy to this reporter, Byaruhanga stole Shs.10m meant for facilitation of police constables to beef up the institution’s security.

Mak Inter-Staff Games On

The Makerere University Inter-staff competitions kick off Friday 22nd November at the Main Sports ground. The contest that will feature teams from all the nine colleges and school of law, Directorates, University Hospital, Estates and Works Department, the Main Library, Dean of Students’ Department and the Senate Building.

The units’ teams will compete in Soccer (men), Netball (Women), Volleyball (mixed team), Athletics (all), Cross Country (all) and Tennis.
