NRM's Peter Sematimba Loses Parliamentary Seat Over Academic Qualifications

High Court presided over by Justice Lydia Mugamba yesterday declared Busiro South parliamentary seat vacant after proof that the newly-sworn in Peter Sematimba lacked the academic qualifications for the post.

This was after Sematimba's political rival, Stephen Sekigozi seeking a legal redress, saying that Super FM's CEO doesn't have  academic documents that are an equivalent of Uganda Advanced  Certificate of Education (UACE), which is a prerequisite for one's nomination to vie for a parliamentary seat.

Court Orders Govt To Pay Lukwago Shs 75m For Malicious Arrest

High court presided over by Justice Yasin Nyanzi has directed government to pay Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago Shs 75 million to compensate his malicious arrest by the police, about nine years ago.

Lukwago was, in 2007, arrested for 'disobeying' a police officer's instructions that stopped them from accessing the Constitutional Square to hold public rally. They were protesting activities of the notorious Kiboko squad which was thought to be a state Machinery

BREAKING: Makerere Suspends Another Lecturer

Makerere University Appointments committee has issued another suspension letter to a lecturer from the College of Business and Management Sciences (Cobams).

Brian Musaga, from the department of planning and applied statistics was at the end of this month allegedly caught red handed in a sexual act from his office with a third-year student (name withheld), from the same college. The student had gone to Musaga's office to inquire about how to handle her final project.
