Boat Accident: Search Enters Day Three, 32 Bodies Recovered

 

Operations resume this morning as the army and police marines search for victims of the boat accident on Lake Victoria on Saturday that has so far claimed 32 lives.

More than 100 people, some sources say up to 150, were aboard a private boat when it capsized on the evening of November 24 at about 7pm. The boat was carrying revelers from KK Beach in Ggaba, Kampala to Mutima Beach in Mpatta Sub County, Mukono district when it capsized. The incident happened a short distance from the shore off Mutima Mutola Island in Mpatta sub county Mukono District.

Bebe Cool Talks Big After Winning Continental Award

 

Musician Bebe Cool talked of the virtues of hard work, belief, honesty and loyalty shortly after he a Music in Africa Award last night.

The Ugandan music icon won the award for "Best Male East African Artiste" at the 2018 AFRIMA Awards in Accra, Ghana.

The Gagamel Entertainment musician, whose real name is Moses Ssali, beat top East African Artistes like Diamond Platnumz and Hamonize from Tanzania and Kenyan rapper Kaligraph among others to win the category.

Bible Society Launches UGX27B Project

 

The Bible Society of Uganda (BSU) this week celebrated 50 years of existence with a ceremony at which a 27-billion-shilling housing project was launched.

At the ceremony on Friday, November 23, BSU, which opened its offices in Uganda in 1968, speeches, performances and praises were on display. A modern housing facility to cost twenty seven billion shillings was launched.
