The Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese His Grace Paul K. Bakyenga has argued the youth to work towards changing their universities and societies.

In a speech read by the Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator Rev. Fr. Leo Tinkatumire, Bakyenga said that the youth should work for transformation of their societies. “Much has been invested in you. Make every effort to transform the universities where you are and your societies after your graduation.”

He made the remarks at the inter institution prayer day at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara, organized by the Inter Institution Association of Catholic Chaplaincies of Uganda, on Saturday.  The day brought together catholic communities of institutions in Uganda. The theme of the day was, “I will follow you wherever you go, Luke. 9:57-62”

Speaking at the same event, Fr. Leo Tinkatumire advised the youth to prepare for their future in order to enjoy it. “Good future is for those that prepare for it.” He also urged the youth to learn to live by their decisions; “even in life you’re going to live your own life... As a priest one thing I hate is to identify with another priest and I must do what the other priest does. I do what I want.”

Mr. Nyemara Novatus the Bishop Stuart University Catholic Community patron encouraged youth to take it as an obligation to spread the gospel and let Jesus be known in the whole world. He also advised the youth to get renewed and do God’s will.  “Now is the time to renew our spirituality to be able to perform the function of promoting the will of the father.”

Among the institutions that attended were Makerere University, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Kampala International University, Katigondo Seminary, University of Kisubi, Ndege University, Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, Mbarara University of science and technology (MUST) and Bishop Stuart University, the host
