Resty Nalinya Mbabazi, the woman who was killed with the former Buyende District Police Commander, Mohammad Kirumira has been laid to rest. Nalinya was buried at her ancestral home in Mpenja, Gomba District.

During the burial, the Catechist of Kakomo Catholic sub-parish, Emmanuel Lwanyaga urged Ugandans to stop being greedy for power. “It is greed and scrambling for power that killed our daughter,” he told mourners.

Lwanyaga called for unity, peace and love and described the killers of Kirumira and Nalinya as cowards, and the deceased as heroes.

“Heroes are assassinated by cowards and these cowards should get to know that God is the only judge of human life, not politicians, not police, not the army,” added the catechist.

Nalinya was killed alongside former Buyende District Police Commander, Mohammed Kirumira in Bulenga. Residents described her as a friendly person.

Joan Nakato, a fellow resident of Bulenga described Nalinya as a warm person who had many friends.

“Her friendly customer relations approach at her Mobile Money kiosk earned her many friends,” says Nakato.

Another friend, Michael Serunjogi described her as a very beautiful, social and charming person.
