Umar Ssemata becomes the first Ugandan to defeat Moses Golola in a kickboxing match. In a no-title challenge fight that took place on Saturday night at Freedom City in Namasuba along Entebe road, Thailand-based Ugandan fighter Umar Ssemata was declared a winner in the night of Champions, after silencing motor-mouthed Moses Golola in the fifth round.

In a huge audience that turned up for the fight, the ‘hot temper’ saw his first defeat in the middleweight championship which allows use of knees, kicks and punches, courtesy of a points count.

The fight lived to its billing in all rounds full of tremendous skill, counter punching, foot work, good combination, good low and upper body kicks that had the two fighters going toe to toe.

Ssemata ‘the pain’ showcased different skills that helped him walk the talk.

Golola was however no convinced with the result and asked for a rematch, claiming he was just unlucky to lose the fight.

Although Ssemata seemed to accept another challenge with the ‘hot temper’, we yet to confirm whether it will happen again.

Golola had enjoyed glorious victories over Ugandan fighters Mugula Ronald, Titus Tugume - a UPF soldier, and recently a win over Abu Kikenwa. All his previous losses were by non-Ugandan fighters.
