KCCA Go Top After Hard Fought Win Over SC Villa

KCCA FC ascended to the top of table of Startimes Uganda Premier League after a 3-2 victory over SC Villa at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Goals from Julius Poloto, Jackson Nunda and own goal from Manko Kaweesa aided the Kasasiro boys earn three points from their rivals.

It was the host team that went ahead first after Albert Mugisa in the 12th minute sent the Villa faithful on their feet with a long range shot that beat Charles Lukwago for the first goal.

However, it took KCCA just five minutes to cancel the lead of SC Villa. Julius Poloto diverted in a cross from Timothy Awanyi for the equalizer in the 17th minute.

Both teams had chances to take the lead but KCCA's center back Filbert Obenchan had his acrobatic effort fly inches wide and on the other end Bashir Matanda put a chance to waste.

KCCA could later take the lead for the first time with Manko Kaweesa diverting the ball into his own net but Bashir Mutanda got SC Villa an equalizer at the stroke of half time.

After the break, Jackson Nunda who replaced Lawrence Bukenya scored with his first touch and a goal that sealed KCCA'S win over SC Villa.

This was the fourth defeat of SC Villa under coach Moses Basena, who remained second at bottom of the table with just three points collected in seven matches.
