KCCA Hands Over 7Bn Project to Makerere University

A UGX 7billion project undertaken by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to tarmac and light up Makerere University roads as well as construct the new main gate has officially been handed over to the university.

Outgoing KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi made the handover 31st October at a function held near Makerere main gate. Also, the main gate which has been under construction for over a year was officially opened. 

Stop Dumping Rubbish in Trenches, Says Minister Beti Kamya

 

The Minister for Kampala Beti Olive Namisango Kamya has cautioned Lungujja-Kosovo residents against dumping rubbish in trenches.

This was during the Weyonje programme where the minister joined Nabugabo Updeal garbage collectors in the cleaning of Lungujja-Kosovo area where they dug the trenches, collected rubbish which was later taken by Nabugabo Updeal trucks.

In the minister's speech on Friday, she has told people to get rubbish cans where to put rubbish in order to avoid dumping everywhere.

Fake News an Extension of Politics, Say Analysts

Fake news in Uganda is an extension of political battles, in which each side uses falsehoods as a tool to discredit the opposing views while advancing their own agenda, according to analysts.

Sylvie Matelly, the deputy director of Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS) said that fake news is supported by political activists.
