Library Crowding, Noise Increase as Exams Approach

 

As the end semester examinations draw closer, the number of students going to the library has drastically increased. This has however led to an increase in noise and other interruptions for students who want to concentrate on their books.

 

A section of library users is complaining about noise caused by phone calls, constant movements, discussion groups, student conversations, among others. Some students have been seen watching movies and listening to music in the library.

 

‘1,000 People Attended Mak Geopolitics Conference’

 

Over 1,000 participants took part in the recently-concluded Kampala Geopolitics Conference held in Makerere University. This is according to the Chief Security Officer of the University Police, ACP Enock Abaine.

Abaine told journalism@mak that the University hosted 800 people on the first day of the conference and about 400 on the second day. Police says this was a big number of delegates, the reason they increased security deployment during the conference.

Lumbox Carnival Goes Well Despite Mishaps

This year’s Lumbox carnival at the Makerere main grounds went well as Lumumba and Mary Stuart solidarity registered yet another milestone.

The event started at 8:00pm as reggae music played while the famous MC Allan Dziz together with MC Bristol lit it lively with their voices.

The event powered by Capital FM and Senior Common Rooms of Lumumba and Mary Stuart (Box) was kicked off by Elders and the Cambodian army (Gongom Guard Brigade) introductions.
