Excitement Among Makerere Students Ahead of Pope’s Visit

Makerere University community and students at large are full of anticipations and excited ahead of Pope’s next week visit to Uganda.

Just like any other people in community, the youth and students are ready to put aside whatever they are to do and dedicate their three days to the Pope. Among many expectations, their high expectation is to share on the big blessing that the pope will carry.

According to Jenipher Achiro, a fourth year student at the institution hopes the Pope will bless the youth and their generation will be a different one.

My Call is to Serve Humanity-Hon Jacinto Okello

Hon. Jacinto Okello draws his inspiration from his late grandfather who stood up for the truth to the “slightest moment” and he desires to serve humanity to the last. The twenty two year old is Langi by tribe, from Oyam district, Northern Uganda.

 Jacinto is the current Guild Representative Council (GRC) for the School of Liberal and Performing Arts, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 In primary five, he was voted pupil of the year- a thing that showed him his fortune.  He was “brought down” at the death of his elder brother.
