Makerere 67th graduation: Best student awarded Shs 1m

Sarah Namboozo, the overall best student from Makerere's ongoing 67th graduation ceremony has been awarded a cash prize of Shs 1million.

Namboozo, who has graduated with a first class degree in bachelor of science in marketing with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 4.92 was at Makerere University Business School (Mubs) for the three-year course.

In a separate interview with Journalism@mak, Namboozo attributed her success to hard work and determination.

"I formed a discussion group that consisted of determined students. We used to discuss every time we were free and I don't remember missing any lecture," visibly excited Namboozo said.

While handing over the award, the chairman Makerere University Convocation, Dr Tanga Odoi said the the money is meant to built a spirit of hard work amongst students and also serve as a token of appreciation to those who win the race.
