Students will need to develop entrepreneurship ideas and start their own businesses, as a solution to the biting youth unemployment in the country.

According to the CEO Nice House of Plastics and chairperson of Uganda Manufacturer Association, Ms Barbara Mulwana, one has to believe in starting small, engage mentors for purposes of growth and challenged the youth (especially the youth) to dare and look beyond handouts as everything good comes with a cost.

This as Makerere University College of Business and Management Sciences (COBAMS) hosted the 9^th Pakasa Forum, to give young entrepreneurs skills on how to start business and survive in a competitive business environment.

Lt Gen Charles Angina, the deputy coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation encouraged students to embrace government programs like engaging in modern farming, citing a program named agricultural tourism, which he said involves value addition, branding and packaging of agricultural products.

Angina however noted that students need to be organized in dynamic, loyal, visionary groups ready to give accountability in order to get government funds for their projects.

Robert Kabushenga, the Chief Executive Officer of Vision Group urged students to embrace the business world and prepare themselves of the future where more technology to do work will be required than human labour. He says students should be open-minded, think creatively, have empathy and be innovative.

Pakasa Forum is an initiative by the Vision Group that creates platforms for established, emerging and interested entrepreneurs to teach, learn, inspire and grow themselves.

Dr. Eria Hisali, the Principal CoBAMS says the event was held in preparation for the 3^rd Annual Entrepreneurship Expo, slated to take place on 12^th October, 2018 at the Freedom Square where students are anticipating to showcase various innovative ideas.
