The College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS) emerged as winners in the Sister's Competition 2018 that was organised by Makerere Muslim community under their umbrella Makerere Muslim Students Association (MUMSA).

Muslim ladies from different colleges on Saturday gathered in the gardens of the Makerere Main Mosque to compete in different activities that included cookery, recitation of Quran, Quiz about Islamic affairs and public speaking.

Jibreal Akankwasa, Chairman MUMSA congratulated the winners and thanked all the participants. "I congratulate the every college that participated in the Sisters competition and as you all know in MUMSA, we are all winners but bravo CoNAS for emerging today's victor," he said.

Akankwasa went on and appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the Sisters Competition and he prayed to God to reward them.

The College of Natural Sciences was followed by College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in the second and third positions respectively. The School of Law did not turn up for the competition.

Khauthar Mustafah, who serves as the chairlady at the College of Natura Sciences and as well participated in the competition said, "I congratulate my team for having worked together to see that we win this competition. Thank you my team."

She further thanked other competitors saying without them, they wouldn't have been the champions of 2018.

According to the publicity secretary of MUMSA, Nawudo Salwa, the competition was aimed at promoting unity, love and life skills among the Muslim community. She further said that unity was lacking among Muslim ladies and the competition was to join them by competing in different activities

Muslim students from Kyambogo University, YMCA and Makerere University Business School were among the guests who attended the event.

Sisters’ Competition was started last year by the MUMSA members in order to create a bond between the Muslim sisters.
