What Makerere Guild Candidates Said at the Presidential Debate

Makerere University held the third and last guild presidential debate on Tuesday evening in the University main hall ahead of the guild presidential elections slated for  Friday.

The debate was organized by University Forum on Governance (UNIFOG) and Conrad Adenauer Stiftung under the theme: ‘Deepening debate culture in Uganda’s leadership competition'. Thousands of students atended the debate.

Nicholas Ssekidde Supporters Beaten at Inaugural Rally

 

Makerere University guild campaign rally at Lumumba hall yesterday evening turned chaotic after supporters of Nicholas Ssekidde, the newest entrant into the race, were clobbered by students meant to provide security at the hall.

Nicholas Ssekidde is a second year student, pursuing  bachelors degree of Arts in economics (BAE).

The Gongom Guard Brigade (GGB) beat Ssekidde’s supporters to pulp for failing to observe silence, which was a must at the rally.

Makerere Students Strike Over Delayed Results

Students at the School of Social Sciences, Makerere University today morning went on strike to express concerns over missing marks and delayed results.

Students say that their results have neither been displayed online nor on notice boards. Most of these concerned students are in their last semester at the university.

The course units for which they have not received their results include; Sociological Perspective, Comparative Politics and Development Administration and Comparative Public Administration.
