University Rugby 7s Championship Kicks Off

 

 

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe has launched the University championship Rugby 7s tournament at Makerere Impis Rugby Grounds popularly known as the Graveyard.

The games which are organised by the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) in conjunction with Uganda’s Rugby Federation have commenced today and will close tomorrow, Sunday.

 In his opening remarks, Professor Nawangwe thanked FASU for supporting Rugby and also organising these first games.

Wakiso Giants Snatch Stoppage Time Winner against Proline

Proline's dismal form continued on Sunday as Kefa Kisala’s men lost 2-1 to Wakiso Giants.

Vienne Ssekajugo netted twice, including a 90th minute penalty, to secure maximum points for Wakiso Giants and pile misery on Proline at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Ssekajugo's 7th minute goal placed the Purple Sharks into the lead but Bright Anukai's 39th minute strike leveled matters. Things changed in the 90th minute when the referee gave Wakiso Giants a clumsy penalty as Proline's captain Mustapha Mujuzi described it.

Casual Laborer Loses UGX 2M in Betting

A 25-year-old man in Kawempe, a suburb of Kampala, lost two million shillings to betting during the Brazil-Senegal football match on Thursday night.

Samuel Kibuuka, a resident of Kawempe was so certain of the Brazilian Samba Boys walloping the Terranga Lions of Senegal that he didn’t think twice putting his money.

Hours later the sides met in Singapore for an international friendly and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
