Defending Champions Vipers SC today open their title defense campaign with a home game against newly promoted Ndejje University at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The match will be the first official competitive meeting between the two sides since Ndejje University FC only joined the top flight football. This will be Ndejje University’s first game after its promotion as champions of the big league last season.

Edward Mulindwa, a supporter of Ndejje University, is upbeat ahead of the 4pm kickoff. “The fact that it is Ndejje’s first game against vipers, I guess the new comers will put in more efforts to win,” he said.

Vipers have a chance to restore their winning ways after falling 1-0 to KCCA FC in the FUFA super Cup at Wankulukuku last Saturday.

Coach Martinez Espinoza knows this. “Am looking forward to our first game in the Ugandan Premier League but most importantly to show how effective we are,” he said.

It is the first game in the Star times Uganda Premier League against Ndejje University fc. Vipers collected 65 points to win the title last season, four ahead of KCCA FC.

According to Namutebi Latifa, a supporter of the Vipers, players always win when they are home so definitely there are higher chances for the vipers to win the match.
